BC BASEBALL COACHES CARAVAN 2023

Hey Everyone:  The BC Baseball Coaching Caravan will be in Port Alberni on Saturday April 8th.  The energy at the event is always very upbeat and enthusiastic and a great way to kick off the 2023 season.  Also note that there is no cost to attend the event.

For the newcomers, here is how it works.  Players, parents and coaches are assembled on the field and work together with the Caravan coaches and our local coaches.  The Caravan coaches work to provide coaches and parents with simple drills and games they can use in practice and at home with the players.  The other aspect that the Caravan coaches message to parents and coaches is the importance of positive, fun dialogue around the game.

Players will need to bring a glove and dress accordingly.  If it is raining, we will go inside to the Jericho School gym which is adjacent to the field.

How long is the event?

Saturday April 8th

9 to 1030 am   Tadpoles year of birth 2014 - 2015 - 2016

Please pm our Facebook page with you name and contact information to ensure your name is added to the March clinic date.

Thank you for your support

ATTENTION ALL COACHES

Once baseball registration has ended on March 26th, we will be reviewing and awarding coaching positions in the various divisions.  You must complete the following to be considered.

If you could forward the initial coaching application asap that would ensure you were in the process.  All applications can be emailed to albernibaseball@gmail.com or dropped off at the Royal LePage office  front desk, which is located across from the Clambucket restaurant.

COACHING INFORMATION:

Alberni Junior Baseball welcomes all applications to coach.  To keep the baseball community alive and vibrant we appreciate the value of coaches and your involvement within our baseball community.  The profile of a good coach is not necessarily one who possesses a baseball background, but one has the desire to work with the players in all aspects of the game.  There is always a need for coaches at all levels and the opportunity to learn as you go.  Our Association will assist you in the learning process by offering you the opportunity to learn and grow through the NCCP (program) National Coaching Certificate Program.  The many courses offered in the spring will be at no cost to our volunteers and we encourage all coaches to at least begin with the online Initiation module which will soon be  a requirement to coach.  Once you have completed that module, the resources are endless.  Courses for the spring program will be offered free of charge for coaches.  More information to follow.

Coaching Requirements:

Coaching Application:

The application to coach is attached. and must be completed.

The Non- negotiable requirement for all coaches in our Association is the Criminal Records Check.  This MUST be done or initiated before you will be given any consideration to coach. It is a mandatory risk assessment rule by our Provincial body and is not taken lightly.  The check can be done through our local RCMP and documents to do so are attached.  It can also be done online by using our access code which can be provided by request.

Thank you so much
